Možná opatření pro zlepšení péče zahrnují supervizi zdravotníků v porodnictví, zvyšování jejich psychosociálních dovedností a kontinuální péči „one-to-one“ v těhotenství a při porodu., Respectful and supportive interaction of healthcare providers with a woman in labour determines significantly her childbirth satisfaction. Woman’s perception of this interaction is influenced both by her previous care experiences and by the physiological specifics of birth. This text summarizes recent findings of biological psychology on the role of neurohormone oxytocin in social perception. We demonstrate that oxytocin can be the reason of increased vulnerability of women in labour and their sensitivity to stress experienced by healthcare providers. Oxytocin may augment a subjectively experienced threat and result not only in decreased birth satisfaction and worse cooperation with healthcare providers, but also lower the uterine contractility. Especially psychologically more vulnerable groups of parturients need to feel secure and be treated sensitively. Possible measures for improving the quality of care in this area include clinical supervision and psychosocial training in maternity care and continuous one-to-one care in pregnancy and childbirth., Kodyšová, E., and Literatura
Prezentujeme kazuistiku 69letého muže s atypickým průběhem demence s parkinsonizmem a progredujícími závažnými poruchami chování. Klinický obraz evokoval demenci s Lewyho tělísky nebo frontotemporální demenci s parkinsonizmem. Poněkud atypický průběh a rychlý vývoj nemoci lze vysvětlit neuropatologickým nálezem komorbidity dvou neurodegenerativních entit. Post mortem se podařilo shromáždit dostatek informací a kompletně zmapovat průběh onemocnění od prvních příznaků až k definitivní neuropatologické diagnóze., We describe a case of a 69-year-old man with an atypical course of dementia with Parkinsonism and progressive severe behavioral abnormalities. Clinical presentation was compatible with dementia with Lewy bodies or frontotemporal dementia with Parkinsonism. The rapid and atypical progression was related to neuropathological findings of two co-morbid neurodegenerative entities. Fully developed dementia with Lewy bodies predominated, while markers of Alzheimer’s disease were also present in the brain tissue. However, their less expressed and more widespread distribution was probably related to the absence of clinical manifestations of progressive amnestic dementia, a typical symptom of Alzheimer’s disease. We retrospectively completed missing data and retraced the clinical course from the first disease manifestations to the definite neuropathological diagnosis. Key words: delirium – dementia with Lewy bodies –Alzheimer’s disease – frontotemporal dementia – differential diagnosis – parkinsonism The authors declare they have no potential conflicts of interest concerning drugs, products, or services used in the study. The Editorial Board declares that the manuscript met the ICMJE “uniform requirements” for biomedical papers., and V. Franková, R. Matěj, R. Rusina
Do výskumu bolo zaradených 406 žiakov šiestych a siedmych ročníkov. Priemerný vek žiakov bol 12,4 roka. Z výskumných nástrojov sme použili inventár životných udalostí (LEI), dotazník subjektívnej pohody (GHQ 12) a škálu sebaúcty podľa Rosenberga (SeS). Výsledky nám potvrdzujú dôležitosť skúmania životných udalostí, subjektívnej pohody a sebaúcty, ktoré môže pomôcť k vhodnej podpore duševného zdravia v rámci verejného zdravotníctva., The thesis has focused on the issue of positive and negative life events of pupils and their impact on their mental health. Several goals have been defined: to ascertain the most frequently occurring positive and negative life events of pupils as a whole, and as dependent on gender and to discover the relationship between life events, general health and self-respect amongst these subjects. This survey was conducted in elementary schools and at an octennial grammar school in the Žilina Region. A total of 406 sixth and seventh grade pupils were involved in the survey. The average age of pupils was 12.4 years. Life Events Inventory (LEI), General Health Questionnaire (GHQ 12) and Self-respect Scale (SeS) according to Rosenberg were used as research tools. Significant distinctions in rates of general health and self-respect depending on the number of experienced positive and negative events were confirmed. The option "I enjoyed holiday events in our family"(92.36%) was identified as the most positive life event whilst the sentence "I was unsuccessful in a school subject"(68.97%) was marked as the most negative event by pupils. Significant gender distinctions were discovered in four positive and two negative events. Outcomes have confirmed the importance of researching life events, general health and self-respect in order to contribute to suitable promotion of mental health in the public health system., Petra Dankovičová, Želmíra Fetisovová, Igor Ondrejka, and Literatura
