Neuropatologická diagnostická kritéria neurodegenerací jsou založena na průkazu specifických změn v parenchymu korelujících s klinickým obrazem. Souběžná neuropatologicky definovaná onemocnění odpovídají kombinaci dvou (i více) odlišných, plně rozvinutých postižení u téhož pacienta. U souběžné patologie více entit v ohraničených oblastech mozku vedle primární nozologické jednotky nacházíme zároveň depozita proteinu specifického pro jinou neurodegeneraci. Častá je kombinace Alzheimerovy nemoci (AN) s inkluzemi alfa‑synukleinu. U AN se může zároveň ukládat i protein TDP‑43, není ale jasné, zda se jedná o atypicky probíhající AN nebo kombinaci atypické AN s frontotemporální lobární degenerací. Komorbidity AN a tauopatií jsou relativně vzácné. U pacientů s Creutzfeldtovou‑Jakobovou nemocí lze diagnostikovat doprovodnou AN nebo demenci s Lewyho tělísky. Klíčová slova: neurodegenerace – Alzheimerova nemoc - tauopatie – protein TDP-43 – synukleinopatie – smíšená demence, Neuropathological diagnostic criteria of neurodegenerative disorders are based on the presence of specific lesions in the brain tissue that correlate with clinical symptoms. Concomitant neurodegenerative disorders correspond to a combination of two (or more) different fully developed diseases in one patient. Concomitant neurodegenerative pathology stays for the presence of a definite neurodegeneration and deposits specific for another, but not fully developed, disease. Frequent overlaps include Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and alpha-synuclein inclusions. In AD, protein TDP-43 may co-aggregate but it is not clear whether this is an atypical but isolated AD, or an overlap of AD with early frontotemporal lobar degeneration. Comorbidities of AD and tauopathies are relatively rare. In Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, concomitant AD or Lewy body dementia may occur. A combination of vascular pathology with a primary neurodegeneration (mostly Alzheimer’s disease or Lewy body dementia) is historically called mixed dementia. Overlap of neuropathologically confirmed neurodegenerations may lead to atypical and unusual clinical presentations, illustrated with examples and references to published case reports from our patient cohort. Key words: neurodegeneration – Alzheimer’s disease – tauopathy – TDP-43 protein – synucleinopathy – mixed dementia The authors declare they have no potential conflicts of interest concerning drugs, products, or services used in the study. Intracellular bacteria of the genus Wolbachia (α-Proteobacteria) are the most widespread endosymbionts of insects. Host infection is usually associated with alterations in reproduction, such as cytoplasmic incompatibility, the induction of parthenogenesis and offspring sex ratio bias: all phenomena that may influence host speciation. In the present study, by using well-established molecular tools, we investigated the presence of Wolbachia in leaf beetles of the genus Crioceris and their host plants, which are various species of Asparagus. Multilocus sequence typing of bacterial genes showed that despite their occurrence in the same habitat and feeding on the same plant, two species of Crioceris, C. quinquepunctata and C. quatuordecimpunctata, are infected by two different strains of Wolbachia. C. asparagi, C. paracenthesis and C. duodecimpunctata, which are sympatric with the infected species, do not harbour the bacterium. Interestingly, DNA of Wolbachia was detected in host plant tissues that are exploited by the beetles, providing evidence for the horizontal transmission of the bacterium between beetles and their host plants. Moreover, Wolbachia was detected in species of Crioceris that are not closely related., Michał Kolasa, Matteo Montagna, Valeria Mereghetti, Daniel Kubisz, Miłosz A. Thirty years long measurements of plumb line variations carried on with help of horizontal pendulums provided us information of non-tidal effects. Installation of the long water tube tiltmeter opens for us new possibility to answer the question, which part of non-tidal effects observed by means of pendulums was associated with geodynamic phenomena and which part was of instrumental or local origin. Two years long measurements of the long water-tube tiltmeter showed us some important similarities between non-tidal effects registered by both instruments: comparable amplitudes of non-tidal effects, time of durations of non-tidal effects as well as irregularity of occurring of non-tid al events. In spite of disjunction of time series of measurements obtained with help of horizontal pendulums and long water-tube tiltmeters we are able to conclude that the reasons of large non-tidal effects can not be simply explained by influence of temperature or pressure variations., Marek Kaczorowski., and Obsahuje bibliografické odkazy
Among the first GPS geodynamics projects in Czech Republic the MORAVA network was founded in 1994 with aim to determine the positional changes at border zone between the Bohemian Massif and the Carpathians. Initial project included three successive GPS campaigns in period 1994 - 1996, but was not continued because of lack of support. It had been possible to carry out new measurements in southern part of the MORAVA network including five stations, after gap of 15 years. In the paper comparison of previous and contemporary results of epoch GPS measurements are presented, which indicate block movement tendencies at the Bohemian Massif and the Western Carpathians border, thus confirming activity of the area up to present days., Otakar Švábenský, Michal Witiska, Jan Ratiborský, Radim Blažek, Lubomil Pospíšil and Josef Weigel., and Obsahuje bibliografii
The permanent GPS stations are particulary important for studying various phenomena because they provide uninterrupted measurements allowing to form the time series of station coordinates. Analysis of GPS solutions time series (GPSSTS) for short meridian baselines were explored in the paper (Kryński and Zanimonskiy, 2000). In our article we intend to extend the analysis of the GPSSTS for baselines of different lengths and azimuths. GPS observation data from the ASG-PL network have been used in the research. The GPSSTS in time and frequecy domain have been analyzed. The spectrums of the GPSSTS with the using coherence function were compared. Moreover, a practical approach to correct any unmodeled effects in GPS baseline solutions that cannot be computed using classical GPS adjustment was presented., Władysław Góral and Daniel Jasiurkowski., and Obsahuje bibliografii
The WEST SUDETEN geodynamic network consists of 11 sites on that five annual GPS epoch measurements in period of 2001-2005 were carried out. The 48-hour epoch data linked to 4 permanent EPN station observations created reasonable GPS data base for a preliminary evaluation of site movement velocities. General movement pattern over the network has been obtained and some regional and local movement relations among network sites were observed and discussed. The whole region under study displays three areas with relatively different movement trends. The northern area, i.e. the Krkonoše Mts. structural block, displays pronounce motion to the NW with respect to the central area that involves the Permian piedmont of the Krkonoše Mts. covered in its southern part by the Cretaceous sediments. Besides, conspicuous dextral movement along the Železné hory Mts. fault zone was detected too., Vladimír Schenk, Zdeňka Schenková, Milada Grácová and Pavel Kottnauer., and Obsahuje bibliografii
This review, which summarizes our findings concerning the long-term effects of pre-, peri- and postnatal factors affecting development, nociception and sensorimotor functions, focuses on three areas: 1) perinatal factors influencing nociception in adult rats were examined in rats with hippocampal lesions, after the administration of stress influencing and psychostimulant drugs (dexamethasone, indomethacine and methamphetamine); 2) the effect of pre- and early postnatal methamphetamine administration was shown to impair the development of sensorimotor functions tested in rat pups throughout the preweaning period; 3) the effect of extensive dorsal rhizotomy of the brachial plexus during the early postnatal period was studied with respect to neuropathic pain development and sensorimotor functions. The present study indicates that prenatal or neonatal stress, as well as various drugs, may disturb the development of the nociceptive system and cause long-term behavioral changes persisting to adulthood and that some types of neuropathic pain cannot be induced during the first two postnatal weeks at all. A mature nervous system is required for the development of the described pathological behaviors., R. Rokyta, A. Yamamotová, R. Šlamberová, M. Franěk, Š. Vaculín, L. Hrubá, B. Schutová, M. In modern societies, living organisms are exposed daily to multiform pollution from industrial chemical products. Some of these substances have been shown to affect the endocrine system, and have been termed endocrine disruptors (EDs). Bisphenol A (BPA), which can leach from plastics, and parabens, used in cosmetic products, are among the most well-studied. Prenatal development is a vulnerable phase of human life, and disruptions during this period may have lifelong consequences. Since EDs are known to cross the placental barrier and BPA may accumulate in the fetus, "BPA-free" products have been introduced to the market. However, such products often contain alternative bisphenols (e.g. BPS, BPF) that have not yet been extensively examined or regulated. Moreover, alternative bisphenols often occur together with BPA. The human organism is thus exposed to a mixture of EDs, some of which can have additive or synergic effects. Recent findings have also shown that paraben exposure can alter bisphenol pharmacokinetics. Taking into account the widespread occurrence of various EDs and the potential multiplicity of their effects, doses of EDs currently considered safe may not actually be as safe as they appear, especially during pregnancy., L. Since close relationship was shown between drug addiction and memory formation, the aim of the present study was to investigate the effects of interaction between prenatal methamphetamine (MA) exposure and MA treatment in adulthood on spatial and non-spatial memory and on the structure of the N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptors in the hippocampus. Adult male rats prenatally exposed to MA (5 mg/kg) or saline were tested in adulthood. Non-spatial memory was examined in the Object Recognition Test (ORT) and spatial memory in the Object Location Test (OLT) and in the Memory Retention Test (MRT) conducted in the Morris Water Maze (MWM), respectively. Based on the type of the memory test animals were injected either acutely (ORT, OLT) or long-term (MWM) with MA (1 mg/kg). After each testing, animals were sacrificed and brains were removed. The hippocampus was then examined in Western Blot analysis for occurrence of different NMDA receptors’ subtypes. Our results demonstrated that prenatal MA exposure affects the development of the NMDA receptors in the hippocampus that might correspond with improvement of spatial memory tested in adulthood in the MWM. On the other hand, the effect of prenatal MA exposure on nonspatial memory examined in the ORT was the opposite. In addition, we showed that the effect of MA administration in adulthood on NMDA receptors is influenced by prenatal MA exposure, which seems to correlate with the spatial memory examined in the OLT., R. Babesia caballi (Nuttal, 1910) is one of the causative agents of equine piroplasmosis which causes economic losses to horse industry in China. There is an urgent need for rapid detection method for B. caballi infection in Xinjiang Province, China. To prepare monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) against Bc48 gene of B. caballi (Xinjiang local strains) and establish colloidal gold-immunochromatographic (ICT) assay for diagnosis of the disease, recombinant Bc48 was expressed and purified from Escherichia coli. With purified Bc48 as immunogen in mice, three hybridoma cells named 11F4, 1H2 and 7F4 secreting mAbs against Bc48 of B. caballi were obtained, which showed strong reaction with recombinant Bc48 and Bc48 gene transfected cells. Furthermore, colloidal gold labelled ICT assay based on purified Bc48 recombinant antigen and its mAb was developed. The ICT assay showed high sensitivity and specificity and no cross-reaction with Theileria equi (Laveran, 1901). Total of 56 horse serum samples collected from Xinjiang were tested by ICT and compared with the detection by commercial ELISA kit. The results showed that 32 out of 56 serum samples were positive by ICT and 33 were positive by ELISA. ICT assay had high coincidence (98%) to the reference ELISA kit. mAbs and ICT developed in this study could be provided as an efficient diagnosis tool for infection with B. caballi in horse in Xinjiang area., Panju Wang, Jingjing Song, Ruiqi Song, Mengyuan Zhang, Lijiang Wu, Fangxin Li, Yan Yan, Jiyong Zhou, Bayin Chahan, Min Liao., and Obsahuje bibliografii
