Příspěvek prezentuje dvojici artefaktů vyrobených z lidských kostí, pocházející z různých lokalit mladší doby bronzové na Moravě. Vzhledem k jistým formálním shodám jsou dále prezentovány nálezy hlazených a vrtaných artefaktů podobného stáří, vyráběných ovšem z mnohem běžnějšího materiálu, kostí koně a tura. A neglected sort of the Late Bronze Age bone industry. The work presents a pair of artefacts made from human bones and originating from various locations in Late Bronze Age Moravia. Due to a certain formal congruence, also finds of smoothed and drilled artefacts of a similar age are presented, which are however made from more common material such as horse or ox bone. From a smaller amount of publications on similar artefacts of prehistoric origin published thus far, it appears that these also include items that can functionally be interpreted as skates or sled runners, as well as artefacts of an entirely different function, used as hide burnishers, or other.
Looting of archeological sites using metal detectors poses the greatest problem for contemporary archeology. The scale of the resulting damage often lies beyond our imagination. This study brings to attention three new bronze hoards looted from “Tabulová hora” site, which were revealed to archeologists at the Regional Museum of Mikulov. These hoards together with unofficial information from looters themselves, and other such known cases, testify to the dramatic differences between the “known” and the “unknown” in the world of archeological metal artefacts. This paper suggests, that the estimate of about one hundred hoards looted from “Tabulová hora”, may not to be unrealistic., Aleš Navrátil., and Obsahuje seznam literatury
In 2019, a metal-detector find of an exceptionally well-preserved weapon was made in the complex of Ždánice Forest. We can classify it as a long-sword of Type XVIa, H1, 1b (according to Oakeshott 1964; Głosek 1984, 39–40, Fig. 4) and date it to the turn of the 15th century. Its blade was marked on both sides with three marks taking the form of a forked cross, a diagonal consisting of three equilateral crosses and, finally, a bishop's crosier. The weapon was assembled from a blade of Passau provenance and hilt-components characteristic of the wider Central European region. These and other facts concerning the sword were obtained through detailed analysis, which this study introduces.
Předběžné analýzy naznačují přítomnost mladého bohunicienu, který se chronologicky i technologicky odlišuje od dosud známých lokalit bohunicienu v Bohunicích a na Stránské skále. and Ořechov IV is a Bohunician site in the Bobrava Upland, approximately 7 km south-west of Bohunice and outside of the Brno Basin. It was known as a surface site ever since the first artefacts were discovered there at the beginning of the 20th century. Two locations with stratified cultural contexts were discovered recently. This site was probably visited by Paleolithic people on different occasions throughout the Upper Paleolithic period resulting in a palimpsest. Preliminary analyses suggest the presence of a Late Bohunician industry that can be differentiated chronologically and technologically from the Bohunician occupation at Bohunice and Stránská Skála.
The article analyzes set of normative sources which regulated the exercise of the profession of painters and sculptors in Brno in the 18th century (guilds’ statutes, government’s decrees, civic regulations, judicial sources etc.). The study interprets the decline of the artists’ guild organization in Brno in the 1750s in a wider perspective of economic and administrative reforms in the Habsburg monarchy. These reforms were marked by several particular initiatives made by the artist’s corporation in Brno, who came up with own unsuccessful proposals of various changes of the traditional city’s guild system. The study states that such initiatives should not be explained simply as symptoms of a changing urban society in Central Europe during the Enlightenment era, or as a consequence of the dynamics of proto-industrialization and the establishment of new economic as well educational institutions, but also as a result of the new product market and the demand shifted towards less expensive and more fashionable goods.
Pro zpracování jsou vybrány absolutně datované hroby a depozita lidských těl v jámách ze závěru starší a počátku střední doby bronzové, kterými můžeme tyto trendy podložit. and The classic typochronological schemes of the Early Bronze Age (and other periods) are based on a detailed separation of traits to which chronological qualities are attributed. These qualities involve both artefacts and the nature of burial customs and settlements. In contrast, current research is focussed instead on the definition of more robust stages and the tracking of the continuity of phenomena. Systematic records and rescue excavations have made it possible to create an impression of the frequency and form of archaeological sources, both settlements and burial grounds, as well as of the periods in which their archaeological records disappear. These trends are clear in the area of burial customs, where they lead to a minimal archaeological discernment of burials at the end of Early Bronze Age contrasting with the apparent continuity of settlements. This article addresses the issue of the end of Únětice cemeteries in Moravia connected with the movement of burials to the surface level beneath barrows and focuses on traits regarded as chronologically sensitive, which naturally have a clearly longer-term occurrence. Chosen for processing are graves with absolute dates and deposits of human bodies in pits from the end of the Early Bronze Age and the beginning of the Middle Bronze Age which can be used to document these trends.
Populaci využívající návrší Cezavy lze zařadit mezi skupiny živící se především smíšenou stravou s převahou rostlinných zdrojů. and The aim of the multidisciplinary analysis of bioarchaeological sources from the Cezavy site near Blučina (Brno-venkov district) was to contribute to a reconstruction of the food sources of the local population at the beginning of the Late Bronze Age. The buccal dental microwear and isotopic analyses of anthropological material indicate that the diet of all individuals was mixed; a various plant ratio was inferred in nine individuals, whereas eight individuals had a higher meat intake, of which the main source were small ruminants (sheep/goat) and domestic pig. Other sources of meat were irregular; aside from hunted game, isotope analysis showed the consumption of marine fish in three males. Since strontium isotope analysis indicated that these individuals had never migrated, the marine fish must have been brought to this territory as a preserved import. Cereal grains, roasted at the site in their spikelets and glumes, played a key role in the plant component of food. Despite not being prepared for consumption, in this form they could have been a suitable object for a burnt sacrifice. The population living on the elevated Cezavy site can be classified among groups with a mixed diet, with a predominance of plant sources.
Použijeme-li k hodnocení požadavky na moderní grafitové tyglíky, zjistíme, že vysoká tepelná vodivost, objemová stálost a hydrofobie grafitu byly hlavními vlastnostmi ovlivňujícími pozitivně (technologicky a ekonomicky) sušení, výpal i využívání grafitové keramiky. and Medieval potters in Moravia began using graphite to produce pottery in the ninth century. Common utilitarian graphite pottery disappeared from the market during the course of the thirteenth century, with further production essentially limited to large storage vessels. Sediments containing graphite were collected in the vicinity of the occurrence of graphite. Coarse-grained graphite flakes along with fragments of minerals were used as temper, while fine-grained graphite and organic material were used as binders. There is no consensus on the role of graphite in the production and use of pottery. If demands on modern graphite crucibles are used as evaluation criteria, it can be seen that the high thermal conductivity, volume stability and hydrophobic nature of graphite were the main qualities with a positive impact (technologically and economically) on the drying, firing and use of graphite pottery.
Na základě získaných výsledků je diskutována otázka provenience tetraedritové měděné suroviny z ložisek ležících v Západních Karpatech a východních Alpách. and Current modern, as well as older elemental analyses of metal artefacts from the period of Early Copper and Early Bronze Age are showing the distribution of copper material, originating in the area of Western Carpathians, in the western part of central Danube area, i.e. in the area of current Moravia, with the exception of Eastern Alps and south-east Europe. In all above mentioned chronological periods it is a copper from West Carpathians area coming from tetrahedrite ore. In given context appears a question of the importance of the copper from West Carpathians area in Moravia in times of peak production of bronze industry in the period of Urnfields cultures. Basic results of chemical and isotope analyses of the hoard Blučina 1 from the Late Bronze Age, uncovered in South Moravia show the presence of copper with tetrahedrite chemical structure. The authors of submitted article decided to add another analyses of metal ligatures by the methods ICP-MS and ICP-OES, as well as the analyses of stable isotopes of hoard 1 and 13 from Blučina to this known fact. On the basis of the results, the authors of the article are discussing the origin of the tetrahedrite copper material from the deposits in the Western Carpathians and Eastern Alps.
According to A. Přichystal’s classifi cation (cf. 2010), siliceous weathering products are classifi ed into the SiO2 minerals group. This study presents results of the analysis of collections gathered together in southern and south-western Moravia, and contributes to their more precise petrographic and cultural classifi cation. The authors introduce a new type of local siliceous weathering products as the Malhostovice type. It is a preliminary term defi ned similarly as the Ctidružice type, Lesůňky type, etc., Martin Kuča, Jaroslav Bartík., and Obsahuje seznam literatury
