Následující tři texty navazují na diskusi otevřenou v Archeologických rozhledech 62/2010 (712–719). Předmětem diskuse jsou úskalí aktuální praxe, kdy si profesionální archeologové, resp. instituce založené na principu neziskovosti, najímají na provedení terénních prací komerční organizace. Je zřejmé, že bez úpravy zákona týkajícího se archeologie je problém, vyplývající ze změny politicko-ekonomické situace České republiky, těžko řešitelný. Perspektivám připravovaných právních změn se věnuje třetí text, uzavírající diskusi. and The following three texts are a follow-up to the discussion opened up in Archeologické rozhledy 62/2010 (712–719). The subject matter of the discussion is the current practice when professional archaeologists or institutions established along the non-profit principle hire commercial organizations to carry out the fieldwork. It is evident that without modification of the law concerning archaeology, this problem – a consequence of the political and economic transition of the Czech Republic – is difficult to solve. The last, third text concluding the discussion is focused on the prepared legislative changes.
Studie přináší zprávu o výsledcích komplexně pojatého výzkumu dvojdílného, příkopem ohrazeného areálu z konce raného středověku v Ledčicích (okr. Mělník). Areál objevený při letecké prospekci byl podroben opakovanému geofyzikálnímu měření a sondáži, doplněné namátkovým povrchovým sběrem. Analýza leteckých snímků a výsledky dosažené uvedenými postupy terénního výzkumu prokázaly současnost obou hlavních komponent areálu; rozbor nálezového souboru datuje jeho existenci do 1. pol. 13. století. V kontextu dosavadních znalostí o podobě sídelních/hospodářských jednotek pozemkové šlechty představuje ledčický areál ojedinělou situaci, která zachycuje jednak v úplnosti tvar a velikost vlastního jádra (dvojdílného) dvora a jednak ohrazení přiléhajícího prostoru. and This paper reports on the results of a comprehensive investigation of a two-part ditched enclosure from the final part of the Early Middle Ages near Ledčice (Mělník distr.). The site discovered via aerial reconnaissance was plough-walked, subjected to a geophysical survey and test excavated. The analysis of aerial photographs and data from the aforementioned field methods has demonstrated the contemporaneity of the two enclosures; pottery fragments date the site to the first half of the 13th century. In the context of the current state of research on the settlements of early country lords, the Ledčice site represents a unique situation with the complete ground-plan and size of such settlement (a two-part ditched enclosure as its principal component) and also a few components outside the central feature.
Cílem práce je prostudovat vztah kultury, archeologické kultury a sociální identity (etnicity). Tyto jednotlivé klíčové pojmy prodělaly v průběhu vývoje archeologických i antropologických teorií bouřlivý vývoj, což však ne všichni současní badatelé reflektují. Proto je zde podán stručný přehled historie vzniku a obsahu antropologické a archeologické kultury a etnicity. Prostor je také věnován etnoarcheologickému přínosu při studiu stylu hmotné kultury. Závěrem je, že archeologická kultura nepředstavuje odraz sociální identity a etnicity minulých populací, a že pojetí archeologických kultur jako interpretačních jednotek původních společností je třeba revidovat. and The aim of the work is to study the relationship between culture, archaeological culture and social identity (ethnicity). These individual key terms have a stormy history in the development of archaeological and anthropological theory, a fact that is not reflected by all contemporary researchers. For this reason, the essay includes a brief overview of the history of the emergence and content of anthropological and archaeological culture and ethnicity. Attention is likewise paid to the ethnoarchaeological contribution in studying the style of material culture. The conclusion reached by the author is that archaeological culture does not reflect the social identity and ethnicity of past populations and that the concept of archaeological cultures as interpretive units of original societies needs to be revised.
