Objectives. This study aimed to assess psychometric properties, such as reliability, construct validity, and cut-off scores, for the Czech version of the Clinical Outcome in Routine Evaluation – General Population (GP-CORE) questionnaire, a tool usable for repeated measurement of psychological distress within routine clinical settings. Participants and setting. Two general populations and one clinical sample were used with N values of 420, 394, and 345, respectively. Hypotheses. One of the competing theoretical factor solutions will demonstrate the best fit. Statistical analysis. To examine the factor structure of the GP-CORE, a confirmatory multidimensional item response theory analysis (graded response model) was employed. Results. The best fitting model was a bifactor solution representing one content domain of overall distress and two item wording domains (positively and negatively worded items). Clinical cut-off scores were determined to be 1.85 (men) and 1.90 (women). Study limitations. The GP-CORE can be used as an unidimensional measure of overall distress, but users have to be aware of the influence of positive vs. negative item wording on the responses. and Cíle. Tato studie si kladla za cíl zhodnotit psychometrické vlastnosti české verze škály Clinical Outcome in Routine Evaluation - General Population (GP-CORE), konkrétně poskytnout informace o reliabilitě, konstruktové validitě a klinickém cut-off skóru. GP-CORE je nástroj využitelný pro opakované měření psychologického stresu. Vzorek a design. Byly využity tři vzorky respondentů, z nichž dva pocházely z obecné (N = 420 a 394) a jeden z klinické populace (N = 345). Hypotézy. Jedno z faktorových řešení bude mít superiorní fit oproti ostatním. Statistické analýzy. K ověření faktorové struktury GP-CORE bylo využito konfirmační multidimenzionální teorie odpovědi na položku (graded response model). Výsledky. Jako finální model byl zvolen bi-faktorový model reprezentující obecný obsahový faktor distresu a dva metodické faktory způsobené pozitivní a negativní formulací položek. Kromě toho, že vykazoval nejlepší fit, byl také dobře teoreticky interpretovatelný. Klinický cut-off skór pro průměrnou hodnotu napříč položkami byl ustanoven na 1,85 pro muže a 1,90 pro ženy. Limity. GP-CORE lze využít jako jednodimenzionální nástroj pro měření obecného psychologického stresu, ale uživatelé by si měli být vědomi také možného vlivu pozitivní či negativní formulace položek na odpovědi respondentů.
Objectives. The study is focused on psychomet-ric properties of the Czech version of the Bore-dom Proneness Scale (BPS) evaluation. Sample and settings. The scale was completed by 661 secondary school students aged between 15 to 24 (M=17; SD=1,36) together with other measures of related constructs. Statistical analysis. Statistical analyses were realised using the environment of IBM SPSS Statistics (ver. 27) and JASP. Cronbachʼs α and McDonaldʼs ω were used to assess the internal consistency. Confirmatory factor analyses were performed to test the discriminant validity of different existing models. As none of them was of a good fit to the present data, exploratory fac-tor analysis using the Principal axis factoring method with promax solution was used to re-veal specific factor structure within this sample. Correlation analysis was used for convergent validity estimation. Differencies between men and women and with regard to grade point av-erage were assessed using Mann-Whitney and Kruskal-Wallis tests. Results. The internal consistency of the BPS total score was adequate, but the item analysis did not confirm the scale to be unidimensional within this sample. Three factor models derived from previous research studies were tested us-ing the CFAs, but none of them was of a reason-able fit to the data. Based on the results of EFA, three-factor solution appeared to be the best fit to the sample. Despite the fact that one of the re-vealed factors could not have been fully mathe-matically supported, itʼs validity and conceptual value within the BPS construct and with regard to other measured variables is further corrobo-rated in this study. The study results indicate that three-factor solution brings at least more subtle findings with regard to the relationship between the BPS and related constructs. Directions for further scale development and improvement are outlined in order to maximalize the research and diagnostic potential of the scale. Limitations: The major study limitation is relat-ed to the low representativeness of the research sample. Therefore, further research with differ-ent population samples is needed. and Cíle. Cílem studie bylo ověřit psychometrické charakteristiky české verze Škály sklonu k nudě (Boredom Proneness Scale; BPS). Metoda. Škála byla administrována 661 žákům středních škol ve věku 15 až 24 let (M = 17; SD = 1,36) spolu s dalšími nástroji měřícími příbuz-né konstrukty. Statistické analýzy. Veškeré statistické analýzy byly realizovány v prostředí IBM SPSS Statis-tics (ver. 27) a JASP. Vnitřní konzistence byla ověřována s využitím koeficientů reliability Cronbachovo α a McDonaldovo ω. Byly reali-zovány konfirmační faktorové analýzy ověřující diskriminační validitu pro existující faktorové modely. Faktorová struktura u daného vzorku byla následně zjišťována metodou PAF s šik-mým řešením Promax. Konvergentní validita byla zjišťována s využitím korelační analýzy a pro zhodnocení rozdílů z hlediska pohlaví a studijního průměru bylo použito testů Mann--Whitney a Kruskal-Wallis. Výsledky. Vnitřní konzistence pro celkový skór BPS se ukázala být adekvátní, položková analý-za však vyloučila unidimenzionalitu škály. S vy-užitím konfirmačních faktorových analýz byly testovány tři faktorové modely z předchozích výzkumů, avšak žádný z nich nevykázal dosta-tečnou shodu s daty. Metodou explorační fak-torové analýzy bylo u českého vzorku následně identifikováno jako nejvhodnější třífaktorové řešení. Přestože se nepodařilo jeden z faktorů z matematického hlediska obhájit, jeho validita a konceptuální hodnota vzhledem k celkovému konstruktu BPS a dalším proměnným se ukazu-je v rámci tohoto výzkumu jako opodstatněná. Výsledky studie naznačují, že faktorové řešení o minimálně třech faktorech přináší detailnější výsledky, pokud jde o vztah BPS k příbuzným konstruktům. Výsledky studie přinášejí dopo-ručení pro další práci na vývoji škály tak, aby byl plně využit její výzkumný i diagnostický potenciál. Omezení studie. S ohledem na nereprezenta-tivnost výzkumného vzorku je pro budoucí výzkum v této oblasti potřebné zahrnutí také dal-ších populačních souborů.
Problematice stresu je věnována značná pozornost. Proto je třeba mít k dispozici jednoduchý a přitom spolehlivý nástroj umožňující stanovit aktuální hladinu stresu. Cílem tohoto příspěvku je představit prvotní psychometrické ověření české verze Škály vnímaného stresu vyvinuté původně Cohenem v roce 1983, která je v tomto směru jednou z nejčastěji užívaných metod. Ověření dotazníku obsahujícího 10 položek bylo realizováno na vzorku zahrnujícím 358 respondentů z řad studentů vysokých škol. Statistické zpracování zahrnovalo mimo jiné i stanovení vnitřní konzistence dotazníku a konfirmační faktorovou analýzu. Česká verze dotazníku vykazovala vysokou míru vnitřní konzistence, když Cronbachovo alfa bylo 0,871. Konfirmační faktorová analýza potvrdila v literatuře preferovanou dvoufaktorovou strukturu dotazníku a ukázala, že uvedený model dosahuje vyhovujících výsledků v absolutních i relativních indexech shody modelu s daty stejně jako v indexech vystihujících úspornost modelu. Česká verze Škály vnímaného stresu je tak reliabilním a validním nástrojem umožňujícím měření aktuální hladiny vnímaného stresu. and Recently, a great attention has been devoted to stress. Thus, it is worth to have a simple and reliable tool measuring the current level of perceived stress. The aim of this paper is to present a validation of the Czech version of the Perceived Stress Scale which was developed by Cohen in 1983 and is a widely used instrument in this field. Verification of the questionnaire containing 10 items was carried out on a group of 358 university students. The statistical analysis included besides other things determination of the internal consistency and confirmatory factor analysis. The Czech version exhibited a high level of internal consistency with Cronbach´s alpha of 0.871. Confirmatory factor analysis revealed a two-factor structure preferred also in the literature and showed adequate values of both absolute and relative fit indices as well as indices of parsimony. The Czech version of the Perceived Stress Scale is valid and reliable instrument enabling measurement of perceived stress.
The motivation of students toward learning is the important part of educational process. Main aim of the study is to realize psychometric validation of the Slovak version AMS – HS28 (Academic Motivation Scale – High School version) questionnaire, which was developed by Vallerand et al. (1992). This research tool contained seven scales, three of them were focused on intrinsic motivation, three of them on extrinsic motivation and one was focused on amotivation. The sample size was created by 201 high school students. The statistical analysis included the determination of internal consistency of questionnaire through Cronbach’s alpha coefficient and also confirmatory factor analysis. Confirmatory factor analysis revealed a seven-factor theoretical model and values of alpha coefficient showed on the internal consistency of whole questionnaire and also of all factors. and Motivácia žiakov k učeniu je významnou súčasťou edukačného procesu. Hlavným cieľom štúdie je realizovať psychometrické overenie slovenskej verzie dotazníku AMS – HS28 (Academic Motivation Scale – High School version), ktorá bola navrhnutá autormi Vallerand et al. (1992). Výskumný nástroj obsahoval sedem škál, tri boli zamerané na vonkajšiu motiváciu, tri na vnútornú a jedna na amotiváciu. Výskumného šetrenia sa zúčastnilo 201 žiakov stredných škôl. Štatistické spracovanie zahrňovalo stanovenie vnútornej konzistencie dotazníka prostredníctvom koeficientu Cronbachovo alfa, a ďalej konfirmačnú faktorovú analýzu. Konfirmačná faktorová analýza potvrdila sedemfaktorový teoretický model a hodnoty koeficientu alfa poukázali na vnútornú konzistenciu tak celého dotazníka, ako aj jednotlivých faktorov.
Příspěvek představuje podrobný právní rozbor postavení psychoterapie a psychoterapeutů z hlediska platného českého práva. Pozornost je věnována různým druhům psychologických a podobných služeb na trhu. Obsažen je i přehled psychologických povolání v právním smyslu. Dílčí část je zaměřena na psychoterapeutický pohovor při klinických vyšetřeních ve zdravotních službách. Další část příspěvku je věnována podrobnému právnímu rozboru zdravotnické legální výhrady. Autor dospívá k právnímu závěru, že poskytování psychoterapie podléhá režimu zdravotních služeb podle zdravotnického práva. Další dílčí právní pohled je zaměřen na omezené používání profesního označení psychoterapeut podle českého zdravotnického práva, tzn. pouze u psychiatrů se vzděláním v psychoterapii nebo u jiných lékařů s tímto vzděláním či u klinických psychologů. Nedílnou součástí příspěvku je právní otázka jiných působení na duševní zdraví, nežli psychoterapeutických. Jedná se o veřejnoprávně volný prostor pro pastorální medicínu nebo přírodní léčitelství, popřípadě další podobné činnosti. Závěr práce spočívá v tom, že psychoterapie podle českého práva patří mezi zdravotní služby, které jsou vyhrazeny podle zdravotnického práva. Podstatná část psychoterapie je přitom hrazena z veřejného zdravotního pojištění., The paper presents a detailed legal analysis of psychotherapy and psychotherapists under the applicable law in the Czech Republic. The attention is paid to various types of psychological and similar services on the market. The overview of the psychological professions in the legal point of view is also included in the paper.The conclusion of the paper is that the psychotherapy is one of the health services which falls under the medical law regulation, whereby the substantial part of psychotherapy is covered by public health insurance., and Ivo Telec.
Objectives. The main aim of this study was to qualitatively explore the general population’s understanding of forgiveness with regard to its definition, factors, and effects. The special focus of the study was on comparing the views on forgiveness by two generations, young adults, and seniors. Participants and setting. Semi-structured interviews were done with 20 participants from two age groups: ten young adults aged 21 to 29 years (M = 23.4, SD = 2.79) and ten seniors aged 61 to 68 years (M = 64, SD = 2.47). Research questions. Research questions were focused on examining how laypersons conceptualize forgiveness; notably, how they view the factors and effects of forgiveness. It was also explored whether there are any specifics and differences in the views on forgiveness between young adults and seniors. Data analysis. The data obtained from semi-structured interviews were analyzed by Consensual Qualitative Research (Hill et al., 2005). Results. For most individuals in both generations, the basis of forgiveness was letting go of anger and pain. The most significant factor positively related to forgiveness was an apology and admitting the mistake. The most noteworthy negative factor was the depth of the hurt. Individuals perceive positive consequences of forgiveness, especially on their mental health and strengthening their relationships. It seems that young adults perceive forgiveness more as an interpersonal process, while seniors perceive it more as an internal process of an individual. Study limitations. The use of qualitative methodology and the sample size limit the generalization of the findings and comparing two samples at the level of statistical significance. Participants may have had various experiences dealing with hurt and forgiveness throughout their lives which could have influenced their views on forgiveness. Implications. Gaining a deeper understanding of how young adults and seniors understand forgiveness and its effects, what they perceive as helpful or blocking in their forgiving, can help counselors and therapists to improve their interventions aimed at promoting forgiveness., Ciele. Hlavným cieľom štúdie bola kvalitatívna analýza vnímania odpustenia u laickej populácie s ohľadom na jeho definíciu, faktory a dôsledky odpustenia. Vedľajším cieľom štúdie bolo porovnanie názorov na odpustenie u dvoch generácií, mladých dospelých a seniorov.Metóda. 20 participantov dvoch vekových skupín, desať mladých dospelých vo veku 21 až 29 rokov (M = 23,4, SD = 2,79) a desať seniorov vo veku 61 až 68 rokov (M = 64, SD = 2,47) absolvovali pološtrukturované rozhovory. Výskumné otázky. Výskumné otázky boli zamerané na vnímanie odpustenia u laickej po-pulácie; špecificky na vnímanie faktorov a dôsledkov odpustenia. Skúmané boli špecifiká a rozdiely v nazeraní na odpustenie u mladých dospelých a seniorov. Analýza dát. Dáta z pološtrukturovaných rozhovorov boli analyzované pomocou Konsenzuálneho kvalitatívneho výskumu (Hill et al., 2005). Výsledky. Pre väčšinu jednotlivcov oboch generácií bolo základom odpustenia pustenie hnevu a bolesti. Najdôležitejším faktorom pozitívne súvisiacim s odpustením bolo ospravedlnenie a priznanie chyby. Najvýznamnejším blokujúcim faktorom odpustenia bola hĺbka zranenia. Jednotlivci popisovali pozitívne dôsledky odpustenia, predovšetkých na ich psychické zdravie a posilnenie vzťahov. Zdá sa, že mladí dospelí vnímajú odpustenie viac ako interpersonálny proces, kým seniori ho vnímajú viac ako interný proces jednotlivca. Limitácie. Použitie kvalitatívnej metodológie a veľkosť výskumného súboru neumožňujú zovšeobecnenie výsledkov alebo porovnanie dvoch skupín na úrovni štatistickej signifikancie. Participanti mohli mať rôzne skúseností so zraneniami a odpustením v priebehu života, čo mohlo ovplyvniť ich postoje k odpusteniu. Implikácie. Získanie bližšieho porozumenia tomu, ako mladí dospelí a seniori koncipujú odpustenie, čo vnímajú ako nápomocné a rizikové v odpustení a ako popisujú jeho dôsledky, môže pomôcť poradcom a terapeutom k zlepšeniu intervencií zameraných na podporu odpustenia., Lucia Záhorcová, Božena Zelenáková., and Obsahuje bibliografické odkazy
In this paper, I make the case for voluntary euthanasia of adults. My position is that this kind of euthanasia can be rationally justified. Firstly, I present an argument in favour of rationality of suicide and propose a set of general conditions for a rational suicide. Secondly, I argue that if suicide can be rational, then euthanasia can be rational. Then I anticipate counter-arguments against my position and suggest their refutations. I answer the following objections: that i) it is not possible to preferentially compare life and death and prefer the latter; that ii) it is not possible for life to not be worth living; and that iii) the judgement, that life is not worth living, is necessarily irrational. Concerning objection i) I show that it is possible to preferentially compare life and death and prefer the latter; concerning ii) I show that two possible justifications for this objection are untenable; and concerning iii) I show that three possible justifications for this objection are untenable. Finally, I conclude that euthanasia can be rational., V tomto článku obhajujem názor, že dobrovoľná eutanázia dospelých môže byť racionálna. Najprv ponúknem argument v prospech racionálnosti sebausmrtenia a následne navrhnem všeobecnú sadu podmienok pre racionálne sebausmrtenie. Potom argumentujem, že ak môže byť sebausmrtenie racionálne, tak aj eutanázia môže byť racionálna. Následne anticipujem námietky a reagujem na ne. Odpovedám na námietky, že i) nie je možné preferenčne porovnávať život a smrť a preferovať smrť; že ii) nie je možné, aby život nebol hoden žitia; a že ii) súd, že život nie je hoden žitia, je nevyhnutne iracionálny. Ohľadom námietky i) ukazujem, že je možné preferenčne porovnávať medzi životom a smrťou a preferovať smrť, ohľadom ii) ukazujem, že dva možné spôsoby zdôvodnenia tejto námietky nie sú udržateľné a ohľadom iii) ukazujem, že tri možné spôsoby zdôvodnenia tejto námietky nie sú udržateľné.
