Vědecký poradní výbor evropských akademií (European Academies Science Advisory Council - EASAC) sdružuje akademie věd členských zemí EU, Norska a Švýcarska. Záměrem EASAC je připravovat evropským politikům nezávislá vědecká stanoviska a doporučení - každoročně vydává několik souhrnných zpráv nejen pro politiky, ale i laickou veřejnost., Oceans and seas play a crucial role in regulating our climate, nurturing biodiversity, and providing income and food to people around the world. At COP21, governments across the globe agreed that a more aggressive limit for global warming should be set as an essential step toward a more stable relationship between the ocean and climate. In spite of this positive direction, however, marine sustainability faces many challenges, according to a new report issued by the European Academies of Science Advisory Council (EASAC) and the European Commission's Joint Research Centre., and Ondřej Prášil.
Cardiovascular disease (CVD) and depressive disorders (DD) are two of the most prevalent health problems in the world. Although CVD and depression have different origin, they share some common pathophysiological characteristics and risk factors, such as the increased production of proinflammatory cytokines, endothelial dysfunction, blood flow abnormalities, decreased glucose metabolism, elevated plasma homocysteine levels, oxidative stress and disorder in vitamin D metabolism. Current findings confirm the common underlying factors for both pathologies, which are related to dramatic dietary changes in the mid-19th century. By changing dietary ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids from 1:1 to 15-20:1 some changes in metabolism were induced, such as increased pro-inflammatory mediators and m odulations of different signaling pathways following pathophysiological response related to both, cardiovascular diseases and depressive disorders., J. Název Centrum pro výzkum věřejného mínění nebo jeho zkratku CVVM zná asi každý.

Obsah a metodologie těchto výzkumů jsou založeny na různé řadě diachronních a synchronních dat, zejména pak studie z roku 1971 v Institutu pro výzkum veřejného mínění (předchůdce CVVM), a tří rozsáhlých průzkumů Evropské unie., This study employs a r ange of up-to-date statistical information, including the findings of two nationwide sur- veys conducted on the author’s behalf, to evaluate current perceptions of Slovak in the Czech Republic. Where appropriate, the results are compared with the evidence of other questionnaires (including Tejnor: 1971)., and Tom Dickins.
Mezinárodní srovnání přitom ukazuje, že víra v magii je typická především pro východoevropské země., The article focuses on the description of the Czech religiosity. It shows that Czech society is not as secularized as it is often argued. First part of the article analyzes the traditional measures of religiosity: church affiliation and church attendance. Using data from the Census and ISSP 2008, we show that the level of church attendance is relatively stable in the Czech society but the self-declared church affiliation is decreasing. However, the decrease affects mainly large churches with mass membership while smaller denominations enjoy dynamic growth. The second part of the article focuses on the religious beliefs in the ISSP 2008 survey. We show that the majority of the respondents did not believe in God but the belief in magic is very common in the Czech society. International comparison illustrates that the magic is typical for East European countries., and Dana Hamplová.
