The target of research was the implementation of the comparative analysis of conservative therapy of preparation of basic therapy and also new methods of treatment (anticytokine therapy). Appointment of salofalk in twos tablets (0, 5) 34 times a day per os, and also 2,0 gr in the form of a rectal enema unitary for a period of seven days, then had transferd the patients to reception 2,0 gr salofalk per os, allowed to achieve substantial improvement patients cliniclaboratory and endoscopic symptoms with a heavy intensification of ulcer colitis variation, providing full cliniclabaratory remissions achievements of disease at 8 (34 %) patients. In the Minister of the Uzbek Public Health of the Republican Science Coloproctological Center at 10 patients with the IDI have spent the therapy remicade, 7 of them had NUC and 3 patients had the Crohn's disease. Cieľ: Výskum bol zameraný na identifikáciu drţania diéty u adolescentných respondentov a niektorých príčin jej drţania vo vzťahu k pohlaviu a veku. Metodika: Na získanie empirických dát boli pouţité vybrané poloţky sebaposudzovacieho meracieho nástroja s názvom Mapovanie stravovacích návykov medzi adolescentmi (The Project EAT Survey, Neumark- Sztainer et al.). Výskumnú vzorku tvorilo 387 adolescentných respondentov, toho času študentov prvých a štvrtých ročníkov stredných škôl. Výsledky: Podľa výsledkov výskumu ţeny častejšie drţia diéty (redukčné alebo pre jej udrţanie) či uţ v minulom roku (p = 0,002) aj v terajšej dobe (p = 0,000). Sú nespokojné so svojou hmotnosťou (p = 0,000) a postavou (p = 0,009). Respondenti vo veku 18 - 20 rokov uviedli, ţe si ich členovia rodiny doberali alebo si robili posmech z ich hmotnosti (p = 0,000). Vyššie percento ţien zaţilo negatívne hodnotenie ich hmotnosti zo strany členov rodiny (27,5 %) a vrstovníkov (33,5 %). Záver: Sestra v klinickej praxi môţe byť nápomocná pri identifikovaní drţania diét u adolescentov a jej príčin z hľadiska prevencie dopadu drţania diét na telesné a duševné zdravie adolescenta a pri realizácii uţ cielených intervencií, napr. edukácie v rámci takto obsahovo zameranej prevencie., Aim: The research was aimed at identifying dieting among adolescent respondents and some of the reasons for its keeping in relation to sex and age. Methods: For obtaining empirical data selected items of self-assessing measuring tool called Mapping dietary habits among adolescents were used (The Project EAT Survey, Neumark-Sztainer et al.). The research sample consisted of 387 adolescent respondents, previously high school students (of the first and fourth study year). Results: According to results of research women more frequently keep a diet (in order to lose weight or keep it the same) in last year (p = 0,002) as well as at present-day period (p = 0,000). They are not satisfied with their weight (p = 0,000) and figure (p = 0,009). Respondents aged 18-20 years reported that their family members have teased or made fun of their weight (p = 0,000). A higher percentage of women had experience a negative evaluation of their weight on the part of the family members (27,5 %) and peers (33,5 %). Cíl: Posoudit efekt samoléčby a autodiagnózy dysmenorey u studentek univerzity v Maiduguri. Metody: 289 studentek trpících dysmenorhoeou z celkového počtu 25 000 studentek univerzity v Maiduguri ze státu Borno, Nigerie, bylo randomizováno k léčbě dysmenorey. Studentky byly vybrány na základě dotazníku, který vyplnily v lednu 2011. Výsledky: Střední věk ± směrodatná odchylka (SD) účastnic byl 22.50 ± 3.12 roku. 112 (38.8 %) užívalo analgetika a nefarmakologické prostředky k tišení bolesti, buď současně, nebo následně (p < 0.001). Nejčastějšími nemedikamentózními prostředky byly horká lázeň (15.2 %) a ohřívací dečka umístěná na podbřišek (5.5 %). Nejčastějšími léky byly nesteroidní antirevmatika (NSAID) užívané při nástupu menstruace. V 72 % byla léčba účinná, ve 4.2 % nebyla. Většina účastnic se medikovala sama a nezabývala se možnými vedlejšími účinky (p < 0.001). Většina účastnic (63 %) utratila 300 Nigerijských Naira a méně (1.9 US Dolarů a méně) za léčbu dysmenorey. Závěry: Výsledky potvrdily, že NSAID byly nejčastěji užívané medikamenty k léčbě dysmenorey, ale většinou bez znalosti potencionálních vedlejších účinků. Proto doporučujeme zapojení profesionálních zdravotníků do tohoto procesu., Objective: This study was performed to evaluate self-medication for the treatment of self-diagnosed dysmenorrhoea among a group of University of Maiduguri female students. Methods: The population of this randomized study was 289 female students suffering from dysmenorrhoea out of over 25 000 students attending a college of medicine and eight non-medical faculties of university of Maiduguri in Borno state, Nigeria. The students were interviewed using a self-administered pre-tested structured questionnaire in January, 2011. Results: The Mean ± Standard Deviation (SD) of age of the participants was 22.50 ± 3.12 years. Significant number 112 (38.8%) of participants use drugs to remedy menstrual pains followed by non-drug therapy while few combine both the drug and non-drug therapy for the pain management (p < 0.001). The most common non drug remedies employed by the participants were taking a hot bath (15.2%) and placing a heating pad on abdomen (5.5%). However, the most common drugs used by the participants were Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs) which were usually taken orally at the onset of menstruation. Among the participants that used drug, 72% found it effective while 4.2% reported ineffectiveness. Significant majority of the participants usually self-prescribed their drugs, and were ignorant of the common side effects of these drugs (p < 0.001). Most participants (63%) spent 300 Nigerian Naira and below (1.9048 US Dollar and below) on drugs for dysmenorrhoea every month. Conclusion: The results confirmed that NSAIDs were the most common drugs used for dysmenorrhoea treatment, but frequently used without knowledge of potential side effects due to self-medication. ABSTRAKT Cieľ: Zámerom štúdie bolo identifikovať štatisticky významné rozdiely v úrovni emočnej inteligencii (EI) u študentov ošetrovateľstva vzhľadom k demografi ckým údajom (vek, dĺžka štúdia) a zároveň zistiť či úroveň EI študentov ošetrovateľstva ovplyvňuje ich záujem o problematiku geriatrického ošetrovateľstva. Metódy: Výskumu sa zúčastnilo 86 univerzitných študentov denného bakalárskeho štúdia odboru ošetrovateľstvo. Na meranie úrovne EI boli využité dotazníky reprezentujúce rôzne chápania EI. Prostredníctvom SIT-EMO (Situational Test of Emotional Understanding) bola zisťovaná EI ako schopnosť. EI ako črta bola zisťovaná dotazníkom SEIS(Schutte Emotional Intelligence Scale). Dotazníkom vlastnej konštrukcie ESE-GP (Emotional self-effi cacygeriatric patient) bola zisťovaná úroveň EI študentov v procese starostlivosti o geriatrických pacientov. Výsledky: Nezistili sme štatisticky významné rozdiely v úrovni EI študentov z hľadiska demografi ckých údajov (vek a ročník štúdia). Medzi úrovňou EI (SEIS)a perspektívnym záujmom študentov venovať sa geriatrickému ošetrovateľstvu bola zistená štatisticky významná súvislosť (p < 0,05). Závery: Zistené výsledky môžu uplatniť najmä inštitúcie poskytujúce ošetrovateľské vzdelávanie, ktorým odporúčame zamerať pozornosť na rozvoj EI v procese vzdelávania študentov ošetrovateľstva., Aim: The aim of the study was to identify statistically significant differences in levels of emotional intelligence (EI) of nursing students in relation with demographic data (age and year of study) and also determine whether the EI level of nursing students affects their interest in the issue of geriatric nursing. Methods: The sample consisted of 86 full-time undergraduate university students of nursing. To measure the level of EI, questionnaires representing diff erent understanding of EI were used. EI as an ability was determined by the SIT-EMO (Situational Test of Emotional Understanding). EI as a trait was evaluated by the questionnaire SEIS (Schutte Emotional Intelligence Scale). The questionnaire of own construction ESE-GP (Emotional self-effi cacygeriatric patient) assessed the level of EI of students in the process of caring for geriatric patients. Results: There were no statistically signifi cant diff erences in the students’ level of EI in terms of demographic data (age and year of study). A statistically signifi cant association (p < 0.05) was found between the students’ level of EI (SEIS) and their promising interest to pursue geriatric nursing. Cíl: Hlavním cílem výzkumného šetření bylo zjistit, které faktory ovlivňují pouţívání ošetřovatelských diagnóz v klinické praxi. Dalším cílem bylo zjistit rozdíly v hodnocení faktorů ovlivňujících pouţívání ošetřovatelských diagnóz v praxi podle věku, vzdělání a typu pracoviště. Metodika: Pro získání dat byl sestaven nestandardizovaný dotazník zaměřený na zjištění faktorů ovlivňujících pouţívání ošetřovatelských diagnóz. Výzkumný soubor tvořilo 253 registrovaných všeobecných sester z 9 zdravotnických zařízení v České republice. Sestry hodnotili na Likertově škále od 1 do 5, jak jednotlivé faktory ovlivňují pouţívání ošetřovatelské diagnostiky v praxi. Výzkumné šetření probíhalo od června 2011 do listopadu 2011. Výsledky: Podle našeho výzkumného souboru nejvíce ovlivňují pouţívání ošetřovatelských diagnóz v praxi následující faktory: počet pacientů na 1 sestru, administrativní zátěţ, syndrom vyhoření, nedostatek času, rozdíly v teorii a praxi a nedostatek personálu. Statisticky významné rozdíly v hodnocení faktorů podle věku byly zjištěny v hodnocení 2 faktorů: rozdíly v teorii a praxi, nedostatek motivace. Podle dosaţeného vzdělání byly statisticky významné rozdíly zjištěny v hodnocení 4 faktorů: nejednotnost ošetřovatelských diagnóz, terminologie diagnóz, rozdíly v teorii a praxi, rutinní práce. V závislosti na typu pracoviště byly statisticky významné rozdíly nalezeny v hodnocení 5 faktorů: terminologie diagnóz, rozdíly v teorii a praxi, nedostatek praktických zkušeností s ošetřovatelskou diagnostikou, rutinní práce, syndrom vyhoření. Závěr: Rozeznání faktorů ovlivňujících pouţívání ošetřovatelských diagnóz v praxi a zlepšení institucionální podpory můţe ulehčit implementaci ošetřovatelské diagnostiky v klinické praxi, Aim: The main aim of the study was to identify which factors influenced the use of nursing diagnoses in clinical practice. Another aim was to ascertain whether age, education and type of workplace affected the relative importance accorded to these factors. Methods: A non-standardized questionnaire on factors influencing the use of nursing diagnoses was administered to a sample consisting of 243 registered general nurses from 9 healthcare facilities in the Czech Republic. Using Likert´s 5-point scale, the nurses rated the importance of several factors in influencing their use of nursing diagnoses in practice. The research was conducted between June 2011 and November 2011. Results: Based on our sample, there are several factors which influence the use of nursing diagnoses in practice. Some of them are: number of patients per nurse, administrative strain, burnout syndrome, lack of time, discrepancies between theory and practice, lack of staff. Statistically significant age-related differences in rating factors were found for the following: discrepancies between theory and practice, lack of motivation. Statistically significant differences in ratings relative to education were found for four factors: disunity of nursing diagnoses, diagnostic terminology, discrepancies between theory and practice, workplace routine. Based on type of workplace, statistically significant differences in ratings were found for five factors: diagnostic terminology, discrepancies between theory and practice, lack of practical experience in nursing diagnostics, workplace routine, burnout syndrome. Cíl: Cílem výzkumu bylo zjistit důležitost spirituálních potřeb pacientů v paliativní péči a jejich saturaci na onkologické klinice FN Ostrava. Metodika: Výzkumný soubor tvořilo 93 pacientů, u nichž byla ukončena onkologická léčba s kurativním záměrem a vzhledem k negativní prognóze nemoci jim byla poskytována paliativní péče na onkologické klinice FN Ostrava. Do souboru byli zařazeni pacienti s Karnofského skóre KI ≤ 60 %. Ke sběru dat byly použity otázky z domény spirituální potřeby dotazníku pro měření potřeb PNAP (Patient Needs Assessment in Palliative care) a dotazník EORTC QoLC-30. Pro hodnocení rozdílu v důležitosti a saturaci potřeb dle jednotlivých faktorů byl použit párový t-test a t-test pro dva výběry. Výsledky: V oblasti spirituálních potřeb považovali respondenti nejčastěji za důležité „nenáboženské“ duchovní potřeby a to „být naplněn klidem“ (95 %), „mít smysl života“ (92 %) a „mít pozitivní náhled na život a naději“ (91 %). Pacienti byli nejčastěji nespokojeni s nemožností účasti na bohoslužbě (44 %, 56 % u druhého měření). Spirituální potřeby považovali signifikantně častěji za důležité pacienti starší 65 let a pacienti bez náboženského vyznání (p<0,05). V hodnocení saturace duchovních potřeb nebyl zjištěn statisticky významný rozdíl. Závěr: Identifikace pro pacienta důležitých spirituálních potřeb by se měla stát součástí ošetřovatelské péče., Aim: The aim of the research was to find the importance of the patient´s spiritual needs in the palliative care and their saturation at the Clinic of Oncology at University hospital Ostrava. Methods: The research file consisted of 93 patients whose oncological treatment with curative intention was finished and according to the negative prognosis of illness the palliative care was given to these patients at the Clinic of oncology at University hospital Ostrava. Patients registered in this file were registered the Karnofsky score KI ≤ 60 %. The questions from domain of spiritual needs assessment for measurement of needs PNAP - Patient Needs Assessment in Palliative care were used for the data collection. To evaluate the differences in the importance and saturation according to the needs of individual factors used paired t-test and t-test for two samples. Results: In relation to spiritual needs the respondents found as most important the „no-religion“ spiritual needs and the fact „to be peaceful“ (95%), „to have the meaning of life“ (92%) and to have the positive view of life and hope (91%) most often. The patients were dissatisfied with impossibility of their presence at church service (44%, 56% in case of second measurement) most often. The patients older than 65 years and the non-religious patients (p<0.05) found the spiritual needs as important more often. Statistically the significant difference was not known in the evaluation of the spiritual needs saturation. Cieľ: Cieľom práce bolo validizovať defi nujúce charakteristiky ošetrovateľskej diagnózy Defi cit vedomostí vybraným súborom slovenských sestier – expertov, teda zistiť, ktoré defi nujúce charakteristiky sú sestrami považované za hlavné a ktoré za vedľajšie. Metódy: Na hodnotenie defi nujúcich charakteristík ošetrovateľskej diagnózy Defi cit vedomostí bol zvolený Fehringov model validity diagnostického obsahu. Výsledky: Za hlavné defi nujúce charakteristiky boli označené: „slovné vyjadrenie problému“ a „chybné, nepresné dodržiavanie inštrukcií“. Za vedľajšie defi nujúce charakteristiky boli označené: „chybné, nepresné výsledky testu“ a „neprimerané správanie“. Charakteristika „prehnané správanie“ dosiahla vážené skóre menej ako 0,5. Záver: Nie všetky defi nujúce charakteristiky ošetrovateľskej diagnózy Defi cit vedomostí uvedené v klasifi kačnom systéme NANDA-International sú pre vybraný súbor sestier rovnako významné pre jej stanovenie., Aim: The aim of the study was to validate the nursing diagnosis Deficient Knowledge by a chosen sample of Slovak nurses – experts, i. e. to find out which defining characteristics are considered major and minor. Methods: The Fehring’s Diagnostic Content Validity Model was used to evaluate the defi ning characteristics of nursing diagnosis Deficient Knowledge. Results: Th e following defi ning characteristics were marked as major: “verbalization of the problem”, “inaccurate compliance with instructions”. The following characteristics were marked as minor: “poor and inaccurate performance in a test” and “inappropriate behaviour”. The defining characteristic “exaggerated behaviour” had the weighted ratio less than 0.5. The aim of the study was to establish the frequency of hypovitaminosis D in children with type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1D), its influence on biochemical and densitometric parameters and the relation to diabetic nephropathy. 58 children with T1D at the age 9–19 years were enrolled to the study. Vitamin D concentration less than 30 ng/ml was considered as insufficient. 37 children (63.79%) had vitamin D level under 30 ng/ml, from these 19 subjects (32.7%) had vitamin D level under 20 ng/ml and 2 subjects (3.44%) under 10 ng/ml. Children with vitamin D deficiency had significantly lower magnesium concentration and lower Z score of lumbar spine (−1.34 ± 1.24 vs. −0.30 ± 1.21, p = 0.01) compared to diabetics with sufficient vitamin D concentration. No significant difference was found in parameters calcium, phosphorus or glycosylated hemoglobin. Patients with diabetic nephropathy (n = 18) showed no significant difference in vitamin D, glycosylated hemoglobin or Z score of lumbar spine compared to the patients without nephropathy (n = 40). Subjects with nephropathy had significantly longer diabetes duration, significantly higher cholesterol and triacylglycerol concentration. This research paper presents the results of ovarian reserve estimation for 125 women with the Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) who have undergone various methods of surgical treatment resection of the ovaries, thermokauterisation and drilling by laser (HoYag). Ovarian reserve was estimated according to the amount of antral follicles, level of follitropin and Müllerian inhibiting substance (MIS), also named antiMüllerian hormone (AMH). Blood flow in ovarian tissue was also examined after various methods of surgical treatment. Cíl: Cílem šetření bylo zjistit, jak studenti ošetřovatelství hodnotí svoji klinickou praxi, spolupráci s mentorem, jaké aspekty ovlivňují jejich spokojenost s praxí a jak se hodnocení praxe liší na jednotlivých odděleních. Metodika: Výzkumný soubor zahrnoval 59 studentů druhého a třetího ročníku oboru všeobecná sestra. Dotazníkové šetření bylo realizováno standardizovaným nástrojem pro hodnocení klinické výukové prostředí a supervize CLES (Saarikoski, 2002) po absolvované klinické praxi studentů (2008). Výsledky: Byly potvrzeny rozdíly v hodnocení supervize a klinického výukového prostředí vzhledem k typu oddělení, kdy interní oddělení byla studenty hodnocena kladněji. Studenti hodnotili nejvyššími známkami dimenzi ošetřovatelská péče na oddělení, nejhůře pak vztah mezi mentorem a studentem. Současně byly potvrzeny pozitivní korelace mezi celkovou spokojeností studentů a jejich hodnocením. Statisticky významné vztahy byly identifikovány mezi zátěží sester na oddělení a hodnocením studentů – s vyšší fyzickou zátěží sester byla supervize a klinické výukové pracoviště hodnoceno kladněji. Závěr: Výsledky šetření ukazují na význam supervize a kvalitního klinického výukového prostředí pro ošetřovatelské praxe. Praktická výuka tvoří významnou část vzdělávacího programu sester, a proto je nezbytné sledovat zkušenosti a reflexe studentů., Objective: The aim of this study was to find out how nursing students evaluate their clinical practice, co-operation with the mentor, what aspects affects their satisfaction with the practice and how the evaluation of practice varies from wards. Methods: The sample comprised of 59 nursing students of the second and third year of study. The survey was realized by standardized Clinical Learning Environment and Supervision instrument CLES (Saarikoski, 2002) after the completion of students clinical practice (2008). Results: Differences were confirmed in the evaluation of the supervision and clinical learning environment depending on the type of wards, when the internal wards were evaluated by students more favourably. Students rated the dimension of nursing care at the word the highest marks, the lowest was rated the relationship between mentors and students. At the same time were confirmed positive correlations between students’ overall satisfaction and their evaluation. Statistically significant relationship were identified between the nurses´ workload in the wards and students´ assessment – with the higher workload of nurses was the supervision and clinical learning environment evaluated more favourably. Conclusion: The results of survey show the importance of clinical supervision and quality of clinical learning environment for nursing practice.
